According to data from analytics firm Counterpoint, Samsung is the global leader in both smartphone and phone shipments for Q1 of 2018. Acording to market research firm Counterpoint’s data, the first quarter of 2018 the global smartphone market share ranked top five brands are Samsung, Apple, Huawei, Xiaomi and OPPO.
Data show that in the first quarter of 2018, global smartphone shipments fell by 3% to 360 million units. Among them, the top three smart phone brands in terms of market share are Samsung, Apple, and Huawei (including the Glory brand), which accounted for 22%, 15%, and 11%, respectively. Followed by millet, OPPO, vivo and LG, respectively occupy 8%, 7%, 5% and 3% of the market. Other brands of smart phones jointly occupy 29% of the market share.
From the data of various continents, Samsung holds the first advantage in Asia, Europe, and Latin America, while in North America, it is opened by the market share of 37% of Apple. Among the top five mobile phone manufacturers in Asia, three are from China, namely Huawei, Xiaomi and OPPO. They rank behind Samsung with Apple’s 9% market share.
